Internet Connectivity

Internet Connectivity

Access to the internet is essential in today’s commercial world. Nearly all businesses significantly rely on some form of internet connectivity. This can be just for sending and receiving emails, or also alongside adopting eCommerce as part of their business model. This is why, in your business, you need more than just an internet connection, above all you need a provider you can trust.

So why Tech IP?

Tech IP offers reliable, flexible, and cost-effective business internet connectivity. Providing businesses with the speed and quality essential for operational efficiency. Which is always ideal for your high-performance business requirements.  We provide everything from basic broadband products through to the latest fibre high-speed internet connectivity services. Actually offering speeds of up to 300Mbps, even at the busiest of times. Always with a reliable connection of 99% and all delivered with a broad range of service level options.

In today’s market, speed and cost-effectiveness play a huge role in what you need from your business internet connection. We can importantly provide you with an uncongested network. Firstly we will do all the checks to find you the best types of internet connectivity available for any site. Then we can recommend the different technologies and possible network service provider options. As a result, this will help identify which will be the best solution for your business.

time to review your internet connectivity

We also offer our customers a free review of these services. Specifically with the costs of bandwidth reducing every month and new tech arriving. Including products such as FTTC, EFM, Fibre to the premises, etc.

So this means that our customers can benefit from reviewing what services they use right now and how much they are paying. Therefore considering both speed and service levels, alongside cost savings on a regular basis.

We will also set up a review schedule for any services out of contract or coming out of the contract. Allowing us to check what your best options are and choose a bandwidth that suits you. For example, from 2 Mbps right the way up to 10 Gbps.

scale and grow your internet connectivity

As your business grows, your internet applications and cloud services make your internet connectivity more critical. This is why selecting an internet access product your business can rely on is critical. With Tech IP your business internet access is able to scale and grow with the demands of your business-critical applications. Evens that need 100% uptime.

We will always work with you to plan the solutions that fit your business needs. So that when your business grows, we can help manage critical transitions, whilst always supporting your IT requirements. Also, suggest ways to get the most out of your investment.
Internet connectivity scale and growth

“Broadband” is an umbrella term that covers all types of internet connections: cable, satellite, DSL, and fibre optic service. Not all broadband is created equal. Nowadays, there is an array of super-fast fibre and standard broadband packages to choose from.  Speed is fibre-optic broadband’s biggest selling point. Offering speeds of up to 300Mbps even at the busiest of times and with a reliable connection of 99.99%.  However, fibre optic broadband is not cheap and is not always a viable option for many smaller businesses. Especially those who are looking to get the best from their broadband but on a budget.

With so many broadband providers out there today, it can be hard to know whether you’re getting the best service or the best price.  The most important feature, naturally, is availability. It’s no use trying to get fibre broadband if it doesn’t exist in your area. We have tools in place that allow us to find out this information for you. Simply provide us with your latest telephone bill and we will do the rest for you. We can talk to you about the different contracts we offer. Also the bundle service pricing and business usability.

When it comes to estimating the right internet speed for your business, you need to consider two vital elements.
  1. The number of users in your organisation.
  2. What are you using the internet for?
Are you a relatively small business with only a few staff using their connection for email and browsing websites? Then lower speeds will probably work well for you. However, if you have a large team of employees all wanting to send and receive large files and hold video or audio conferences. Whilst accessing cloud-based applications, and using VoIP services in your business… You’ll need to consider services that provide a more robust connection.  Particularly for VoIP and cloud-based services. The best way to determine this is to consider your peak call volume, and check whether your internet service can support you in those busiest hours. We recommend asking these questions:
  1. What are the data upload and download speed that your ISP delivers? Do other applications or services run on your data network? If so, how much of your available bandwidth do they use?
  2. What’s the maximum number of concurrent calls your business could have?
It is worth noting that your upload speed is often slower than your download speed, so you need to make sure that the lowest speed is enough for what you need.

Additional things to consider include:
  • Will you need to scale speed/bandwidth up or down as demand fluctuates (e.g. to account for seasonality or peak periods)?
  • Do you need a service that offers unlimited usage or downloads?
  • Do your employees use mobile phones regularly, or do they connect to your network from home or remotely? Remote connections and mobile devices consume a lot of bandwidth simultaneously and you’ll need to account for that in your estimate.
  • Will you be using VoIP? If so, our advice is to always run your VoIP phones where possible on a high-quality internet connection. Ensuring at least 100 Kbps upload bandwidth available for each call in progress at the same time. Most ISPs can provide at least broadband speeds over 2MB. Which is more than enough to handle several VoIP handsets. However, higher speeds may require dedicated equipment and always-on connections through ISP.
Higher connection speeds mean access to newer technology. Such as cloud services, hosted email, remote working, offsite backup, and VoIP telephony. All of which will help your business grow, evolve and keep pace with the competition.  Not only can we help determine the best internet speeds for your needs, but we offer a wide range of options to suit different business sizes. Including ADSL broadband, business leased lines, WAN broadband, and EFM broadband.  Choosing a suitable speed is one of the key decisions you must make, and indeed we can help you make the right choice for your business.

If you are moving offices or setting up a new one, then you must know the best internet connection you can have at the planned new site. By simply providing us with the full postal address for your new site, we can quickly carry out checks in the local exchange. So we can establish which internet service providers can provide internet service to your new site. Including which of these offers the fastest, most cost-effective, and most reliable service. Giving you the knowledge of what you can expect from your business broadband. Thus giving you the chance to consider your options before you move or set up in your new office.

Bandwidth is defined as the ability to transfer data from one point to another in a fixed amount of time. The higher the bandwidth speed you have, the more data you can send over your broadband internet connection.  There are two types of bandwidth at your location, upload, and download bandwidth. The upload is the amount of data you can send to the internet. Whereas, the download speed is the rate data is transferred from the internet to your computer.

Businesses need quality bandwidth. Especially to drive capacity for IP technology, video communications, and speed for responsive cloud services. Our connectivity portfolio is expansive. We extend well beyond the network with expertise in IP telephony. Also, internal and external web-based applications and video conferencing services.
